Into a Big City - A New Me
From familiar lanes to city roads,
from familiar faces to strange abode.
A world so fast, so bold, so wide,
No childhood park, no friends by my side.
New school halls, new rules to learn,
A stranger’s face at every turn.
But I found new pals, whom I could call friends,
I was confident, I observed the trends.
I learned to stand, to find my way,
To speak my truth, to seize the day.
The small-town child, still in my heart,
But now, I played a bigger part.
Took me a year, to make my mark,
I wasn't afraid, I was no more in the dark.
I graduated from school with a great score,
and now I was ready for my college roar!
